MEI ZHU

TREASURER

I came to New Zealand in 2017. I like the environment and atmosphere here, the fresh air, clean water and food. Most people are friendly and kind. I have been an accountant and financial manager for over ten years in China. Now I am working hard to transfer my Chinese accounting knowledge to New Zealand’s and studying at Northtec. I like to volunteer to help the migrant community who are new to Whangarei. I am quite happy to be a volunteer at Multicultural Whangarei, and enjoy working with my colleagues. It’s very nice to get some NZ work experience as well.

SANJANA WERAGODAARACHCHI

MEMBER

I moved into New Zealand in July 2019, to complete my higher studies in Business Management. I studied at NorthTec Whangarei and graduated in 2020. I specialised in Branding, also I hold a great passion for it. I do handcrafts during my spare time while I also enjoy reading novels. I have lived in Whangarei throughout my time in New Zealand, and Multicultural was a part of it since I was a college student. Today, I'm happy to have the opportunity to be a part of it. As a migrant, I’ve felt how it is to feel home, away from home. Being a part of the team, I feel privileged to share my knowledge, thoughts and volunteer my time for the betterment of our community. It is also a great place to learn something new, every day.
