An 11-week course that enables students to receive a recognized qualification from Speech New Zealand.

This course is for:

Migrants wanting to speak with confidence and clarity in public arenas. Migrants preparing for job interviews or wanting to gain promotion at work. Migrants developing their listening skills in NZ English. Migrants interpreting between their first language and English.

What will you learn?

Speaking in front of an audience about your job, skills, experience, or community interests. Making social speeches, such as introducing a speaker or farewelling a colleague. Reading aloud in a way that maintains the interest and understanding of an audience. Developing and presenting talks/Speeches, using PowerPoint. Listening to talks, providing constructive feedback and being able to add to discussions. Participating in role plays for; job interviews; work meetings; social conversation in NZ work environment; dealing with complaining customers.

The course is FREE!
Students pay their own Speech NZ examination fee of $134 to gain a formal qualification. Students can apply for financial assistance to pay the exam fee.
